Monfragüe´s summary

This year was celebrated the fifth FIO (Extremadura Birdwatching Fair) edition in the Nacional Park of Monfragüe. Our university had a stand where some of our classmates participated. In the exhibition site there are a lot of stalls about birdwatching tourism and tourism in Extremadura. The fair allows to promote and to announce his products to operators and national and international specializing press. Last year, I joined the stand group and I had a nice day in the park with my mates and enjoying a festive atmosphere.

In my opinion the excursion last Saturday 27 February was one very rewarding experience.
Personally I learned the names of many birds and their way of life, seeing them live now I am curious to know more of these birds. The bird that I liked the Egyptian vulture.

From a more critical standpoint I think the Monfragüe Nature Park is a good example of sustainable tourism because the park meets the needs of tourist (the tourist come from different European cities) while protecting natural resources and cultural view of the future.

Economically I think a park and foster tourism development in the city of Caceres and fairs like the IFO make this a very interesting site touristic.

I didn´t go to the excursion so I don´t say anything you don´t know, however, I know that Monfragüe is one of the best birdreserve on the world because It has a lot of types of birds from eagles to vultures but not only has birds, also It has many differents types of flora and fauna(otter, red deer, iberian lynx, eucalyptus. . .).

In conclsion, if you like rural tourism, Monfragüe is a must.

In Monfragüe, I lived a lived enriching experience, because when I hardy knew the tourism offering me my region and with this visit, I could see the nature of the north of Extremadura, since I live in Zafra and it is a very different area of Extremadura, It compared with Monfragüe, La Vera ... Because it is an flat area and there is a less virgin nature.

What I most fascinated me was “ El salto del Gitano” because you feel very small and you can enjoy breathtaking views.

I hope to return soon and gradually get to know my region, because we usually go to things out but we have our own.

From my point of view Tourism in Extremadura is always growing thanks to natural resources that we have. Our relief and climate help to bring a high foreign tourism.

Extremadura has some Natural Parks and one of them is considered National Park, called ``Parque Nacional de Monfragüe´´. There are many villages within the park. These villages don´t cause an environmental impact and this is very important to preserve nature and its beauty. The most important thing, especially, is sustainable development in our regions, for the future and for the tourism, of course.

Monfragüe National Park is a very popular tourist destina tion. Personally, Monfragüe is a cultural site and a paradise for the eyes. This park has a wide biodiversity. Is a very interesting place for the ornithology, where you can see many species of birds.

In conclusion I can say about the last visit to Monfragüe that I learned a lot about one of the resources of Extremadura. I recommend people to visit it.

As far as I`m concerned this experience has been very educational and enricher for me. In spite of the weather was not auspicious, we were able to see many birds. Nevertheless it had many birds were safeguarding because of rain and wind, for instance black stork or black vulture. On the other hand we saw many griffon vultures, an Egyptian vulture and other birds such as cormorant or azzure – winged magpie. Aside from this, we were able to contemplate the beautiful landscape of Monfragüe with Mediterranean evergreen forest, where we saw a couple of red deers, dramatic cliffs such as the Salto del Gitano or Peñafalcón, the large Tagus river and esplendid cork and holm oak dehesas.

In the end of afternoon we came back to FIO (International Fair of Bird´s Tourism) but we couldn´t see it because of intense wind.

In conclusion I have learned that we have a rich flora and fauna and If we don´t take care of our wildlife it will be able to have serious consecuences in the future.
